Rumors Swirl That Russia Has Dropped 'Father of All Bombs'
Unconfirmed reports from Syria claim that Russia has dropped what is considered the largest, most powerful non-nuclear bomb in the world. According to reports on Twitter, the bomb was allegedly dropped near the Syrian city of Deir ez-Zor. The gigantic bomb, officially the Aviation Thermobaric Bomb of Increased Power (ATBIP), is also know as the "Father of All Bombs" (FOAB). FOAB is a so-called thermobaric weapon, a type of munition that releases a cloud of flammable gas over the target before detonating it. A Florida man who suggested shooting guns at Hurricane Irma out of "stress and boredom" has found that his idea has captured peoples' imaginations - with over 46,000 signing up to join in.
Hurricane Irma is due to hit Florida on Saturday, and the state is currently experiencing the largest ever mass evacuation due to a hurricane in American history.
But Ryon Edwards, 22, came up with a novel way of amusing himself during the storm: firing bullets into it.
He started a Facebook "event", and as of Friday evening 46,000 people say they are interested.
"A combination of stress and boredom made me start the event," he told the BBC.
"The response is a complete and total surprise to me.
"I never envisioned this event becoming some kind of crazy idea larger than myself. It has become something a little out of my control."
Graphics suggesting how to shoot at a hurricane have sprung up online, with the suggestion that if you fire correctly the bullet might not come back and kill you.
Since Mr Edwards came up with his "masterplan", other similar Facebook pages have been created  - including one suggesting using flame throwers to scare away the storm.
"It's time we took a stand against this bully!" reads the event description. "This is our home, nobody drives us out of our own territory.
"Join me in this fight as we shoot flames at Hurricane Irma and dissipate her on the spot."

Some Miami Residents Staying Put, and Braving Hurricane Irma in Concrete-Encased Garage

The high-rise luxury condos of downtown Miami are facing a direct hit from Hurricane Irma, but they won't let that scare them away.
Gary Read and his family live on the 29th floor of a luxury building on Biscayne Boulevard.
“I think we're expecting about 145 miles an hour by the time it gets here," he told Inside Edition. "The building is built to withstand 175 mile-per-hour winds, so I think we should be okay.” 
The family said they plan to ride out the storm despite warnings to evacuate. They have a plenty of water, fruits, and non-perishable canned goods.
From his balcony, Gary can see towering cranes that can topple in high winds.
His building is not only facing danger from the cranes. The residents are also wondering whether the building will sway if the winds are strong enough.
Inside Edition spoke with some residents who say they're going to take refuge in the garage, a nearly indestructible bunker on the sixth floor.
“We have multiple places within the building that are sealed in concrete. This to me is the most safest,” one resident claimed.
Many families trying to evacuate are facing frustration and despair. Lines at Miami International Airport seem to go on forever.
Some are camping out at the airport because their flights were canceled, but they won't be allowed to stay after Friday night.
Incredibly, a handful of people are still going to Miami. A recent flight out of New York’s JFK Airport Friday had just 14 people on board.
Getting out by car is an ordeal because the highways are clogged and there are gas shortages. In one case, tempers flared to the point where a man pulled a gun on another driver while on a long line for gas.
